Soybean Planting Recommendations
These Maps are based on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) publication Climatography of the United States that summarizes observations from the selected Mississippi weather stations over a 30-year period. The selected weather stations are in varied environments; that is, some are in urban settings, some are in rural or agriculture settings, etc. Therefore, data from certain stations may not look correct, may appear to be quite different from the data of surrounding stations, or may appear to reflect a quite different temperature environment. However, data from each location are accurate for that location and should be used as a guide for determining when to plant soybeans based on your acceptance of a chance that frost (36 deg. temperature) may occur after a certain seven day interval.
Recommendations are to plant as soon as you are comfortable accepting a chance of a frost occurring after emergence.
